Energy and Nature - an eternal challenge

Microwave-electrochemical strategies

Microwave-electrochemical experimentation strategies improve the insight into light induced energy conversion processes. In photovoltaic and photo-electrochemical solar cells only electrons can be monitored which escape the semiconducting solar energy absorber through the attached wires. Those that are lost due to recombination inside are not seen and can not be studied. Microwave radiation techniques can visualize and monitor such electrons. If microwave measurements are coupled with classical photovoltaic measurements, the solar systems can be much better characterized, investigated and optimized (ref. 275, 60, 61, 88, 169, 250, 288, 360).
